We know you’ve got questions about Princess Cruises

We’re all in this together and we want to stay connected with you. We’ve received many questions in regards to how Princess® is doing and if there are any updates on our guests, crew members and ships. We appreciate your care and concern. Below we’ve included answers to some of the most frequently asked questions we’ve been getting.

How are guests and crew from Diamond Princess® and Grand Princess® doing?

Diamond Princess® guests and crew are off the ship and an extensive disinfection process of Diamond Princess® has begun. Most of our Diamond Princess® guests and crew have now returned home from their quarantine facilities and several Princess CareTeams were on-site to support getting our guests home.

We have activated our CareTeam to provide support for Grand Princess® guests in facilities around the country where they are staying for their 14-day quarantine. We just delivered thousands of care packages and are beginning to receive letters of thanks and praise for the crew, and their “above and beyond” professionalism.

As of March 21, Grand Princess® successfully began a 14-day quarantine for our onboard teams. The ship remains anchored in San Francisco Bay. We will continue to support our amazing crew members to ensure that everyone remains safe and cared for during this time.

What’s going to happen to the ships and crew while they’re not sailing?

Our ships continue to house many of our exceptional team members who will keep onboard operations in shape during the pause in service and prepare the ships to return to service when we can.

In addition, Carnival Corporation has recently shared an important offer to the world. Our leadership has decided to make some ships available to communities for use as temporary hospitals where medical professionals can treat patients suffering from less critical, non-COVID-19 conditions. We have included Princess and P&O Australia ships as part of this offer.

What is Princess doing to help ease our minds?

We recently rolled out our new Cruise with Confidence policy. To give you peace of mind, Princess will let you cancel any cruise that sets sail from May 11 through July 31, 2020, as long as you cancel at least 48 hours before you sail. You will receive a Future Cruise Credit, which can be used toward any Princess cruise through December 31, 2021.

Additionally, for cruises sailing August 1 through October 15, 2020: If you’ve booked by April 30, 2020, on these cruises, you can now cancel up to 30 days before sailing and receive a Future Cruise Credit for the amount of your cancellation fee. Is there something I can do to prepare for unforeseen circumstances when booking a cruise in the future?

One of the most common questions we hear from our guests is, “Should I buy cruise insurance?” If you want to spend more time relaxing and less time worrying, the answer is yes. Cruise travel insurance offers some peace of mind for travelers. That’s why we offer Princess Vacation Protection (PVP), a simple way to ease your worries before setting sail.
